Captain's Blog — April 25th & 26th, 2008

My crew from PA, of CW, Luke, Tom and "Tiny", fished with me for 2 days. Friday, we started in tight, west of port, in 7-10 foot of water. Conditions for brown trout were no good. Water was crystal clear. After a couple of hours, we changed up for silvers and trolled west in about 60-100 foot of water. For the remainder of the trip we managed cohos and steelhead up to 9lbs. Fish came off the boards, on the sliders and riggers, 20 foot down was best.

On Saturday, I decided to go east, in tight in 6-9 foot of water. We took about 5 shots, boating 3, before the sun got high in the sky. The browns opted for metal. Sticks went untouched. Water was still clear. I found a pocket of warm water that was a bit dirty and worked it clean. Mid morning we changed up and went offshore in search mode. Offshore we boated a couple of steelhead, missing a few.
Hopefully we get some rain and wind soon!
