Captain's Blog — Blog May 31 st , June 1 st

The boys from PA, of John, Jeff, Barry and Matt came ready for action. We started offshore and saw a steady pick of silvers. It took a bit to get back into the grove with the first eight shots only boxing one. However, we managed to box 7 more out of the next 10. Action came off the boards, sliders and lead core. The old Alpena red was working. Most of our action came in 160 to 200 foot of water. Pictured is Matt with a nice spring steelhead.

Sunday I can sum up in one word, “slow”. We managed only 5 bites. The only highlight was the nice spring king salmon that John landed.

The king took a special NK purple thunder, nine colors of lead core. The fish gave John a good battle. At least John took big fish honors from the two boats for the weekend. John's fish came in at 16 lbs.
